The Municipality of Rosales represented by Mayor Ricardo V. Revita and Mr. John Alimorong graced the invitation of the Gilas consortium, an offshoot of the Ayala Foundation that advocates the the Internet connection of the national highschools countrywide. The occasión was held at the Ayala Museum celebrating the 2020 public schools Gilas catered to from the time of its conception in 2005. Also present during the affair were the partners of Gilas coming from the private sector such as Smart, Globe, GMA-7 etc, and those from the public sector among which is LGU Rosales, Pangasinan. click here for video By virtue of a Memorandum of Agreement between Gilas and Rosales, the latter will provide 10 units of brand new computers plus a two year free internet connection to favor the students of the Robert Estrella National High School in Carmen East, Rosales, Pangasinan. This shall take place anytime this month. Nevertheless this undertaking is not an absolute grant. LGU Rosales shouldered half of the cost of the project in the amount of P150,000 from its coffers. Apparently the amount is so minimal compared to the expected gains from the project which could not be quantified. Imagine that students from said school will have access to libraries of knowledge at their fingertips in a matter of seconds. Not to mention also the fact that this will aid them academically and expose them to the global standards. Consonant to the foregoing, the Mayor aspires to have the other two barangay highschools to be connected in the coming year. If it were not to financial constraints and the additional expenses for their connection due to their remoteness, this World be easily done. Upon the other hand Rosalenians Association abroad are working hand hand for this Project to materialize fully for everyone. Finally this would not been possible without the coordination of Mr. Amado Bermuda, President of the Rosalenians of Hawaii. Mr. Bermuda through his friends were able to bring the Gilas staff to Rosales and work things out. May securing a brighter future for our young generations be a unifying vision for all of us for a maGILAS na kabataan ng Rosales.
